This work by Emily Blincoe caught my eye the most because of the transitioning color of the eggshells. I also enjoy the intentionally cracked eggshells because they make the meticulous photograph much more interesting to the eye. Additionally, the blue tinted eggshells in the corner are one of the main points my eyes drifted to, it is very unusual to see those blue colored shells.
WHITE BALANCE READ AND WRITE
White Balance in Photography: The Essential Guide
White balance is the key to natural-looking photos, to capture a scene as the human eye perceives it. White balance is the process in which removes or neutralizes color casts in the image, it ensures the colors in your image are as realistic as possible. Adjusting the white balance of an image can remove any tint the photo may have. In an image with a blue-ish tint, a white balance setting with a high kelvin number will be able to eliminate the tint. Similarly, if an image has a yellow, warm tint, you can lower the kelvin value and the white balance will make the image appear as it does in real life.
- The sunny setting of white balance may be used for early morning or midday outdoor images
- The Shade setting can be used for scenarios outdoors under a tree or canopy
- Cloudy works for outdoor settings with overcast lighting
- Flash works for stand off-camera scenes lit by warm bulbs
- Incandescent works for indoor scenes lit by warm bulbs
- Fluorescent works for indoor scenes lit by fluorescent light bulbs

ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHY
- Dior
- ‘Miss Dior’ Perfume
- Women of all ages
- On billboards, or shop windows
- A singular flash
- Just the perfume itself, maybe some mist
I like these advertisements because they use a very strong contrast, and they are all edited very nicely; they are all very appealing to look at.
ILLUSTRATION OF AN ICONIC IMAGE
Tyler, the Creator mugshot
MULTIPLE EXPOSURE FLASH AND SLOW SHUTTER SPEED
This photo took only two flashes of a manual flash. The camera was on only an 8 second shutter speed, not nearly as long as the recommended speed of 15 seconds. This photo was overall very simple and based on the Vitruvian Man, a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci. I edited the image to have a yellow tint, because the original work by da Vinci appears to be drawn on a yellow paper.
FILE FORMATS
- JPEG files can lose some image detail yet keep the file smaller than RAW or TIFF files.
- HEIF files are smaller than JPEGs but offer a higher or equal quality in image.
- TIFF files offer extremely high-quality images with zero compression
- RAW files store all information captures by the camera, which allows all aspects of the image to be edited.
- DNG files are an alternative to RAW files and keep images in their original format for much longer periods of time
- PNG files are super small and maintain a relatively high amount of quality.
- GIF files are small and keep a good image quality and can contain animation
- BMP files were created for windows platform and are a larger files size yet produce a high-quality image
- PSD files are used by Adobe and allow you to edit your photo’s layers in photoshop
HDR LANDSCAPES
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, which means a high quality, wide lens image.
The camera that took the image most likely taken on a very tall tripod and has an extremely wide lens.
